US Nursing: Shreveport
This facility is based in in Shreveport, Louisiana. There are four general acute care hospitals and the hospitals has sound connections with a number of clinics and medical centers out of town and in rural areas. It is the largest employer in the region that is not state funded and employs more over 6,500 people.
Areas of specialisation include the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center, WK Proton Therapy Center, Willis-Knighton Heart & Vascular Institute, and the WK Rehabilitation Institute. The later embraces both physical and behavioral rehabilitation. Female and pediatric services include maternal/fetal medicine, NICU, and PICU.
The hospital’s Physician Network of more than 350 participants and works in clinics in Shreveport, Bossier City, and several outlying communities. Primary and specialty care are offered and together well care at urgent care and occupational care clinics. Focus on health and wellness naturally prevails in its network of wellness centers. As such they complement Willis-Knighton’s health services as an active adult community focused on healthy, active living into the later years. Separately the Oaks of Louisiana offers independent and assisted living as well as skilled nursing.
The health system’s WK Innovation Center features a virtual hospital for continuing education of employees and training of medical and allied health students.
