US Nursing: Connecticut

Historically minded US nurses will read that the first explorer to come to this state was from Holland, Adriaen Block who sailed up the Connecticut River in 1614. By 1633 nurses can note that colonists from Holland built a trading post near present-day Hartford. However they subsequently soon lost control of it to the British. This nation forged the state nurses will read that settlements such as Windsor, Wethersfield, and Hartford united in 1639 to form the Connecticut Colony.
During the Revolutionary War the state was the Continental Army’s major supplier. Nurses will read that in the later years the state became one of the most industrialized in the USA.
