They go out of their way to engage staff in the care of the patient. They have a "hands on" infrastructure. The Dean of the Medical School is President of the hospital. 4. Patient oriented environment 5. Advanced technologies 6. Research facility, MDs are deeply involved in research, product development 7. Staff diversity: Multi-cultural environment (Philippinos, Middle Eastern, Canadian, African, Caucasian etc.) Also, 50% of surgeons are male, 50% female. 8. Caliber of the staff is very high. There is a lot of longevity as well. 9. Gown vs. town: this hospital serves the public and not just private patients 10. Social environment: staff work hard, play hard and socialize outside of work. 11. Continuing Education: Good education budget: monthly and bi-monthly in-services. 12. UNCH is a family environment.
