Prestigious teaching hospital in Detroit, Michigan requires registered nurses to work in both their Medical ICU and Surgical ICU. As this is a teaching hospital, they will consider applications from nurses currently working in an HDU / Step Down Unit who are motivated for a move to a more acute setting. Nurses employed in these positions will plan, direct, and provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit using a multidisciplinary approach. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit is larger than most at 42 beds, but the Medical ICU surpasses that with 52 beds - Units of this size require a nurse with the skills and onfidence to take on a challenge at a whole different level. With these challenges though come the rewards of success at one of the strongest and most professionally recognised hospitals in the world. Applications will be considered from nurses who hold an RGN qualification and are currently practising as an ICU / HDU nurse. Although idealy you will have passed your NCLEX, the hospital will consider applications from well focussed nurses who are yet to start the NCLEX process. Nurses will ideally have at least 2 years Intensive Care experience and those with additional Critical Care training and qualifcations will be of particular interest to the hospital.
