DescriptionDameron Hospital is looking for nurses with a minimum of 2 years of experience. They are hiring nurses for night shifts (7pm - 7am). The pay ranges from $33 - $40 per hour with a shift differential of $4.00. There are generous rates for overtime. At present they require nurses with the following specialties: ER, ICU, CCU, Telemetry, L&D and NICU. This is a fast paced hospital with a daily patient turn over of 33%. Nurses must be able to think on their feet, be independent and assertive. They must be a great communicator with stamina, a good attitude and a pleasant personality. There is a very high cultural mix at the hospital. As there are a variety of positions, they require nurses who can be flexible in their shifts (days and nights) as no guarantees can be made at this early stage as to what shift patterns are available. If successful at the interview you will be offered a contract with a 3 year commitment. QualificationsApplications will be condsider from nurses who hold an RGN qualification and are currently practising as an OR / Theatre nurse. Although idealy you will have passed your NCLEX, the hospital will consider applications from exceptional nurses who are yet to start the NCLEX process. Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills. Nurses be able to understand the patient’s condition and be able to communicate this to co-workers. Registered Nurses will have a sense of autonomy as this is a community based hospital where RNs work closely with physicians. As nurses will frequently be speaking with physicians over the phone, communication skills are essential.
