The Economy:
Cincinnati has been chosen as the headquarter city by several large US and international companies to major corporations such as Fifth Third Bank, GE Aviation, Procter & Gamble, Sunny Delight Beverages Co, (suburb of Evendale), Macy's, Inc. Tthere are 10 Fortune 500 companies based in the Cincinnati area.
Developments:
Private investment is driving a considerable upsurge in new development and construction.
For example construction has started on the tallest building in Cincinnati and the third tallest in Ohio. Located in Queen City Square it will tower above the city at 660 feet and in 2011 will house significant companies such as the American Financial Group
Sports:
Cincinnati has seven major sports venues, six minor league teams, two major league teams, five college institutions each with its own sports team. The local population is fiercely proud of the local baseball team - the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Fans often refer to the city and its teams as "Cincy" for short.
Education:
The University of Cincinnati and Xavier University have fine academic reputations. Also the city has the Miami University and Northern Kentucky University.
There are 16 high schools under the auspices of the Cincinnati Public School district which includes several Montessori schools. The region also to a variety of other schools, both public and private. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati accounts for several high schools in metro Cincinnati; ten of which are single-sex:
